Road
Angel provides a
rescue package for
companies ‘stung’ by
telematics provider
failures
The
past 18 months has
been a tough time
for businesses all
over the UK, and the
telematics industry
has not been immune
to the challenges
faced by
unprecedented cost
cutting and scarcity
of business credit.
As reported in Fleet
News in July, many
telematics providers
are struggling; with
many posting losses,
having their shares
suspended or in
extreme cases being
put into
administration.
The
impact on fleet
managers when a
telematics provider
goes bust is
substantial, as they
are often left with
a defunct system
that has no re-sale
value. Those who
have financed their
systems through
leasing arrangements
are finding it
especially
difficult, as they
are likely to be
bound by leasing
contracts that can
have many months or
even years to run.
Recognising the
chaos this is
causing Road Angel
Fleet is offering a
tailored rescue plan
to help ease of pain
of finding a new
telematics
supplier.
Their
low cost of
ownership model
means that a rescue
package can be
tailored to ensure
that the fleet
manager suffering
from a supplier
failure can continue
to track his fleet
without any uplift
in monthly payments.
Road
Angel Fleet is
already working with
a number of high
profile leasing
companies to
implement rescue
packages for
companies that have
leased a service
over a period of
years but no longer
have access to this
service.
Graham Mackie,
Managing Director at
Road Angel,
commented
“Unfortunately there
are many companies
out there who,
through no fault of
their own, have been
left high and dry
when it comes to
tracking their
vehicles. In most
situations we are
finding that a
tailored rescue
package will get
them up and running
in days at no
additional cost to
their current
contract.”
